Work has started on restoring the original layout and green complexes of holes 14, 15 and 16 at Le Touquet La Mer, the beautiful Colt links course on the French north-west coast. These holes were completely destroyed in WW II, and were only rebuilt in the 1990's by the English architect Bill Baker. Unfortunately he did not follow the original routing, and as such created 3 new holes which were very different from the Colt originals.
The goal of my French partner Partice Boissonnas and myself is to go back as much as possible to the 1930's Colt routing and the strategies of the individual holes. This entail chaning hole 14 into a longer par 4 and redoing the green, changing hole 15 from a par 3 to a par 5 and recreating the original green site and changing hole 16 from a par 4 back to a par 3 with a spectacular elevated tee.
